KarmaPlot Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Juvon Holdings Limited ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the KarmaPlot application and the karmaplot.com website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

KarmaPlot is a reading service for novels and serialized fiction. Some content is free; access to further content requires a subscription (Section 4). We may add, change, or remove content and features as the Service evolves.

2. Your Account

You can use parts of the Service without an account. Creating an account requires accurate information, and you are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service; if you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's consent.

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or as described at karmaplot.com/delete-account.

3. License and Acceptable Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial reading.

You agree not to:

  • copy, redistribute, scrape, publish, or resell content from the Service, or circumvent any content protection;
  • reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the app except where law permits;
  • interfere with or disrupt the Service, probe its security, or access it by automated means;
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.

All books, text, cover art, and other content in the Service are owned by us or licensed from rights holders and are protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual-property rights to you.

4. Subscriptions and Purchases

  • Billing. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Prices, currencies, and any introductory offers are shown in the app before you buy; billing is handled by Apple or Google under their terms.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each subscription period and your store account is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.
  • Cancellation. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period.
    • iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → KarmaPlot, or the App Store app → your profile → Subscriptions.
    • Android: Google Play app → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → KarmaPlot.
  • Refunds. Payments are processed by Apple and Google, and refunds are governed by their respective store policies; refund requests must be made through the store you purchased from. Except where required by law or store policy, payments are non-refundable and cancellation does not refund the current period.
  • Anonymous purchases. If you purchase before creating an account, your access is attached to your device's anonymous user. Create an account after purchase so your access survives reinstalling the app or changing devices; on a new device, use the store's restore-purchases mechanism and sign in.
  • Changes. We may change subscription pricing or what a subscription includes prospectively; changes take effect at your next renewal, and stores notify you where their rules require it.

5. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms (for example, content piracy or abuse of the Service), where required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonably possible we will give you notice. Sections 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will remain available.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Juvon Holdings Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us through the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory consumer protections of the place where you live.

9. Apple App Store Additional Terms

If you obtained the KarmaPlot app from Apple's App Store, the following additional terms apply. These Terms are an agreement between you and Juvon Holdings Limited only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"), and Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.

  • License scope. The license in Section 3 is a non-transferable license to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the App Store Terms of Service, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  • Maintenance and support. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the app.
  • Warranty. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, subject to Sections 6 and 7.
  • Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to applicable legal or regulatory requirements, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
  • Intellectual property claims. In the event of a third-party claim that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of the claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app.
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your license of the app, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version is always published at karmaplot.com/terms with its "Last updated" date. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
